Field Study #2

Field Study #2
9.30.18
General 30 by 30 Plot Panorama

Taking water samples for phosphorus study.

Field Notebook:
- Date: September 30, 2018
- Time: 12:30
- Temperature: 46°
- Climate Conditions: light rain, mild winds, cloudy
- Length of Day: 11 hours 48 minutes
- Interesting Organisms: bright orange bloom of mushrooms on a wet stump
- What I heard: cars driving by and rustling leaves
- Pace of the Creek: There was very light rains so the pace of the creek was very slow.
- Questions: I wonder if last night rain showers will effect the phosphorus levels of the water sample that I took today?

Phosphorus Experimental Design

First Encounter

Field Stud #1 | First Encounter

General Panorama of plot (30 by 30 m)

Sand Island in the middle of the creek

Edge of creek where it is eroding away the soil as time goes on.

There were many of these small green plants scatted around the side of the plot where there was sand and pebbles.

Orange specked fungus on a wet root

Drain (possible source) and bridge in the distance

Field Notebook:
- Date: September 5, 2018
- Time: 7:00
- Temperature: 72°
- Climate Conditions: Heavy rain
- Length of Day: 12 hours 58 minutes
- Interesting Organisms: brown common mushrooms, cone shaped fungi, tall green weeds
- What I heard: rain and thunder
- Pace of the Creek: Once the rain began to get heavier the creek flowed faster and this increase in movement was obvious because of the amount of ripples the raindrops created.
- Questions: I wonder if the rain will affect the results I get with my phosphorus experiment?
